Line of Events
After being resurrected by a sinister entity, Art the Clown returns to the shy town of Miles County, where he centers on a teenage girl and her little brother on Halloween night. The haunted house scenes in “Terrifier” were filmed at a real haunted house called the Fright Factory in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The directors used what they already had at their disposal. Art’s favorite acid is fluoroantimonic acid, which he keeps in a clear glass bottle.
Art the Clown:
There is a mid-credits scene in a mental hospital with Chris Jericho as security guard Alan Burke and Leah Voysey as the nurse. The German DVD and Blu-ray releases by Tiberius Film are trimmed by about three minutes to ensure the “Not Under 18” rating (this was necessary as the guidelines for video releases are stricter than those for theatrical releases). Virtually all of the violent scenes were cut to tone down the violence. Nameless Media’s 4K Ultra-HD Blu-ray Mediabook releases are uncut and have received a light SPIO/JK approval.

Like the original, “Terrifier 2” is a tasty treat for lovers of extreme gore and 80s horror. It unapologetically marches to the beat of its music, walking the line between irony and exploitation.
Some have proclaimed Art the Clown to be this generation’s “Freddy” “Terrifier 2” also benefits from a fun supporting cast and a strong lead
And beyond the gross-out practical effects (which are taken to the next level), it has what’s been missing from most of the genre’s offerings of late: a wicked sense of humor. The teenage protagonists, while expendable of course, are less cloying than in many modern horror films, and I was genuinely disappointed when a couple of them met their gruesome end. The film shifts gears at the 2-hour mark, introducing a new plot development that proves to be a real pain in the ass and may test some viewers’ patience (but I’m sure Leone has his reasons and the payoff will be worth it). Fortunately, the film establishes an internal logic early on, so that when the film delves deeper into full-on surreal mode, viewers are more willing to suspend disbelief.
The tone is less “Hostel” and more “Evil Dead” or “Troma Films,” in my opinion
Minor issues aside, Terrifier 2 delivers on its promises and would make an ideal midnight double feature with its predecessor. I suspect that everyone involved in its production had a blast making it, and that its target audience will enjoy it as well. *****Final note: If you’re worried that the gore factor is too much to bear, I will say that the kills are so extreme and over-the-top that they often seem more suited to a cult horror/comedy than standard torture porn.
